Onyx is a hip hop group formed by Fredro Starr, Sonsee, Big DS, and Sticky Fingaz from Queens, New York. They are known for their aggressive style and are considered to be the most hardcore group in rap. Onyx rose to fame after signing a deal with Def Jam Records and releasing their debut album Bacdafucup in 1993, which included the hit single Slam. The group subsequently released several other successful albums, including Shut Em Down in 1998, which featured hit songs like React and The Worst. Onyx continues to be one of the most respected and influential groups in Hip Hop history.
